Книга "Божевільний монах з Гідлі" вразила мене своєю глибиною та інтригуючим сюжетом. Автор майстерно створює атмосферу середньовіччя, в якій читач відчуває холод зимового Дартмура та напругу, що панує в маленькому містечку. Історія молодого священика отця Марка, який опиняється в центрі жахливого злочину, захоплює з перших рядків. Яскраво прописані персонажі, зокрема сер Болдуїн де Фернсіл та судовий пристав Саймон Путток, додають динаміки та глибини сюжету. Крім того, розслідування вбивства Мері та її ненародженої дитини спонукає читача до роздумів про людські пристрасті, ревнощі та таємниці. Хоча переклад тексту іноді має незначні недоліки, це не зменшує загального враження від книги. Рекомендую всім, хто любить детективи з історичним підтекстом та захоплюючими поворотами сюжету!
