At first glance, the USSR and Israel have little in common. But both of these countries are realized Jewish utopias. And they were carried out by representatives of Ashkenazi Jews - the indigenous people of Eastern Europe, who at the beginning of the 20th century, at the peak of passionarity, began to cultivate several options for the future at once. Only one of these utopias turned out to be viable—the Zionist one, which led to the re-establishment of the state of Israel. All the others, including the Soviet one, collapsed, burying millions of lives under their ruins...Who are they, Soviet Jews? How are they different from “non-Soviet” ones? These people lived among us as the greatest mystery of history. They created communist civilization, constituting its first ruling layer, and then suddenly disappeared, as if dissolved in time. Where did they go? Why did they die out? Or have they been transformed?.. In my book I tried to answer all these questions.
