Year after year, the author presents a large-scale canvas of the life of the country in the era of reforms. Radical restructuring of the economy, changes in culture, science, education, loud victories and unfortunate miscalculations, internal political struggle and the beginning of the destruction of the Iron Curtain, the return of thousands and thousands of innocent exiles from Stalin’s camps - all these were those eleven years of Khrushchev.
