The first part of L. Mlechin’s book “Alibi for a Great Singer” (from the series of books “Super Spies of the 20th Century”) is dedicated to the mysterious fate of the famous Russian singer Nadezhda Plevitskaya. Being the wife of one of the leaders of the White Guard emigration, she successfully worked for Soviet intelligence. Love and espionage are the main theme of the second part of the book. It tells the story of the tragic fate of a German woman who betrayed herself for the sake of her loved one, was convicted and is still imprisoned in Germany.
