The book by the famous St. Petersburg Buddhologist and sinologist E. A. Torchinov is dedicated to the philosophy of Mahayana Buddhism, or the Great Vehicle, a direction of Buddhism that has become widespread in China, Japan, Tibet, Mongolia, and also in Russia.
