The monograph presents the author's view of one of the key concepts of language - the concept of correctness. The processes occurring in the modern Russian language are analyzed, among the most important is the convergence of its spoken and written varieties, which occurs under the influence of network communication. The mechanisms of changes in language norms and the influence of society on language are also discussed. The book is addressed to linguists, Russian language teachers and students of humanities departments of universities.
