Anna is the only child in an aristocratic family, whose reputation she ruined thanks to a bad habit - petty theft. When her secret hobby was discovered, the thief was sent to a monastery for re-education, but the girl ran away in search of a better life. The revolution of the seventeenth year gave a free hand to scammers, among whom was Anna, who received the nickname Tsypa. She tries herself in different “genres” - cheating, canopy and even prostitution, but is not entirely successful, and fate brings the unfortunate swindler together with the successful head of the Petrograd gang - Kozyr. It would seem that happy cooperation and love await them, but along with the appearance of a fraudster, a series of misfortunes enters the man’s life... Thus began the difficult path of an adventurous thief, who became famous for being one of the most unlucky criminals of the first half of the twenties.
