The star of the amateur theater is the famous actor Evgeny Preobrazhensky, who is also a successful businessman, has a quarrelsome character and loves to bully those around him. His hobby is to inject his colleague more painfully and observe the reaction. During the banquet on the occasion of the premiere, he is found dead - a damaged block of scenery fell on him. It soon becomes clear that this was not an accident, and many had reasons to wish the death of the “genius of transformation.” The author of a detective play, Marina, and her friend Victoria, the director of the play, begin their own investigation. But only after the second murder do they have a chance to get to the bottom of the truth.
