Alexander Fomich Veltman is a Russian writer, archaeologist, linguist, corresponding member of the St. Petersburg Academy of Sciences since 1854. Veltman left several interesting historical studies, one of which is “Attila - the king of the Rus” (“Attila. Rus' of the 4th and 5th centuries "), in which he demonstrated a deep knowledge and understanding of history as conveyed by ancient records. These works still arouse great interest with their conclusions. However, a barrage of fierce criticism from reactionary scientists, both past and present, leads to the suppression of these studies.
