In the early spring of 2059, Lieutenant Eve Dallas receives an off-planet call to brave the ordeal of conducting a seminar at the largest police conference of the year, held at a luxury resort. At a resort that, of course, happens to be owned by her husband Roarke. Even though Eve doesn't think so, it's still supposed to be part of a vacation. But work interferes in the form of a brutal murder and Eva is forced to begin an investigation. The case is complicated by Eve's personal connection to the victim, as well as the killer's connection to Roarke. As the danger gets closer and the number of victims grows, Eve must find a way to stop this spiral of violence and revenge, and send the past back to where it belongs.
