The military history of the East is known much less well than the European (at least to the mass audience), although in terms of scale, ferocity, contribution to the development of military art and influence on world history, many Asian battles surpass the most famous battles of medieval Europe - Hastings and Bannockburn, Crécy and Agincourt pale in comparison with the wars of the Arab-Muslim world, the Golden Horde, India, China or Japan. The new book of the Wars of Swords project is dedicated to the greatest battles of the East for one and a half thousand years - from the grandiose battles of the Three Kingdoms era to the conquest of India by the Great Mughals, from the legendary campaigns of Genghis Khan to the defeat of the Japanese fleet by the first Korean “battleships” (1592), from the merciless battle between Tamerlane and Tokhtamysh to the establishment of the Tokugawa shogunate.

Книга "Великі битви Сходу" стала для мене справжнім відкриттям. Вона детально висвітлює військову історію Сходу, про яку, на жаль, знають набагато менше, ніж про європейські битви. Автор майстерно описує епічні сутички, які змінили хід історії, такі як походи Чингісхана та битви японського флоту з корейськими "броненосцями". Я був вражений глибиною дослідження та аналізу, які пропонуються в цій книзі. Кожна битва представлена не лише як військовий конфлікт, а й як важливий культурний та соціальний феномен, що вплинув на розвиток регіону.
