The history of the discovery of Siberian oil goes back several centuries. However, the turning point was the powerful gas release that occurred in 1953 at a drilling rig located near the ancient outpost of Russian exploration of Siberia - the village of Berezovo. In 1963, trial exploitation of proven reserves began. The country was waiting for the first oil at the Novotroitskoye field, not far from the small Siberian city of Mezhdurechensk, huddled next to the great Siberian Ob River...

The grandiose epic “Big Oil”, based on the popular series of the same name, tells about the discovery and development of oil fields in Western Siberia.
