Lyubov Fedorovna Voronkova (1906–1976) is a classic of Russian literature, the author of many novels and stories that have been read by more than one generation of readers of all ages. The writer became especially famous for her historical works, the best of which are collected in this publication. First of all, this is, of course, a duology about the life of Alexander the Great: “Son of Zeus” and “In the Mist of Ages,” perhaps one of the most striking biography of the great commander, destroyer of cities and conqueror of lands, who proclaimed himself the son of God. His life, full of contradictions, was aimed at a single goal - to know the whole world and become its ruler. The publication also includes historical stories by L. F. Voronkova, telling about the legendary rulers and wars of the ancient world. The texts are accompanied by classic illustrations of two famous Soviet graphic artists: Igor Ilyinsky and Lev Durasov.

Авторка майстерно відтворює епоху античності, занурюючи читача в світ великих завоювань, політичних інтриг та особистих доль. Життя Олександра Македонського, зображене в цій дилогії, розкриває не лише його військові досягнення, а й внутрішні конфлікти, мрії та прагнення, які роблять його постать ще більш людяною і зрозумілою. Ілюстрації, виконані видатними художниками, доповнюють текст, надаючи йому особливого шарму та естетичної привабливості. Хоча переклад тексту з оригіналу за допомогою штучного інтелекту іноді має недоліки, загалом він не заважає сприйняттю історії. Рекомендую цю книгу всім, хто хоче зануритися в епоху великих героїв і зрозуміти, як їхні вчинки формували світ, в якому ми живемо сьогодні.
