The book was written by ITAR-TASS journalist Vladimir Rogachev and his wife, Alla Baidakova, who worked in the USA for about ten years. Over the years, they visited 38 states and saw a lot there that could not be found in any guidebook. They traveled around America from north to south and from west to east, rose above it into the air and descended underground - in a word, they examined it in all three spatial dimensions. The fourth dimension, as in physics, was the time spent in this country, and the fifth was their vision, feeling, perception of America in all its manifestations. This is where the name of this book came from. The authors wanted to tell Russian readers about what they saw: suddenly the book would turn out to be not only interesting, but also useful for those who want to go to America and see everything with their own eyes. The book talks about nature, cities, roads, the wonders of technology, as well as the people we had the chance to meet. Not a word is said about politics. Just like in any other country, the USA has both good and bad. A lot has already been written about the bad, so the authors decided to talk as little as possible about negative impressions, although this does not mean that they liked everything about this country.
