The book talks about the aquanauts and designers of the Sadko underwater laboratories, the experiments they conducted, as well as other graduates of the Underwater Research Laboratory of the Leningrad Hydrometeorological Institute (LGMI, now RGGMU). In the year of the 60th anniversary of the laboratory, based on archival documents and photographs, the author recalls the unique multifaceted work of its employees, including under Arctic ice, and also evaluates their contribution to the history of inhabited underwater dwellings in our country. The publication is illustrated with rare photographic materials of domestic and foreign researchers depths of the sea during work, meetings and discussions. The final section talks about meetings with famous Russian and foreign experts, organizers of underwater dives and designers J.-I. Cousteau, A. Laban, J. Rougerie, E. Rozovsky, A. Massarsky and many others.
