Автор майстерно переносить читача в атмосферу післявоєнної Фландрії, де мертві солдати, які стали магами, намагаються знайти своє місце у світі, де їх не приймають живі. Ця історія не лише про війну, але й про відчуження, страх і спробу зрозуміти, що значить бути людиною, навіть якщо ти вже не живий. Персонажі прописані настільки детально, що їхні переживання і страхи стають близькими і зрозумілими. Хоча текст перекладено з використанням штучного інтелекту, що іноді призводить до незначних недоліків, загальна якість перекладу не заважає насолоджуватися сюжетом. Рекомендую цю книгу всім, хто любить глибокі та емоційні історії з елементами фантастики та жаху!
