The memories of the famous director and artistic director of the Taganka Theater span almost eight decades. Seven-year-old Yura attended Lenin's funeral in 1924; “Eugene Onegin” - the premiere of the theater master Lyubimov - took place in 2000. In his book, the author adheres to the chronology: childhood, first theatrical roles, creation of the legendary Taganka, expulsion from the USSR, return, new performances. A whole string of people passes through its pages - friends, like-minded people and enemies, enemies. These people largely determined the cultural and political life of the country in the 20th century. And this gives Yuri Lyubimov’s memoirs an amazing uniqueness.
