The result was Talk, a novel in dialogue. The friends are ambitious, conflicted, jealous, petty, loving, funny, sex- and shrink-obsessed, and there’s nothing they won’t discuss. Topics covered include LSD, fathers, exes, lovers, abortions, S&M, sculpture, books, cats, and of course, each other.Talk was ahead of its time in recognizing the fascination and significance of nonfamily ties in contemporary life. It may be almost fifty years since Emily, Vince, and Marsha spent the season in East Hampton, but they wouldn’t be out of place on the set of Girls or in the pages of a novel like Sheila Heti’s How Should a Person Be?

Книга "Говорити" - це справжнє свято для всіх, хто цінує глибокі та відверті розмови. Протягом літнього сезону 1965 року, авторка Лінда Розенкранц майстерно передає атмосферу невимушеності та емоційності, що панує між трьома друзями. Їхні діалоги про життя, кохання, амбіції та соціальні питання вражають своєю актуальністю, навіть через півстоліття. Кожен персонаж має свою унікальність, і їхні суперечки та одкровення створюють динамічну та жваву картину дружби, яка не боїться торкатися складних тем. Незважаючи на те, що текст перекладено з використанням штучного інтелекту, загальна якість перекладу не заважає насолоджуватися цим твором. Я б рекомендував цю книгу всім, хто хоче заглибитися в світ емоційних зв'язків і сучасних цінностей, адже "Говорити" - це не просто роман, а справжня розмова про життя!
