Thirty-three-year-old Evie Starling from Chicago has not been doing well lately: her personal life is unsettled, and at work all her efforts go unnoticed. Evie decides it's time for a change. However, to make changes, the girl chooses a very extravagant way: in a small English village she manages to rent an apartment above a local bookstore, where she gets a job as a consultant during her vacation. Evie quickly meets the good-natured locals and is drawn into the measured life of their village, which includes more someone: the damn attractive, charismatic and funny Roan Robson, who flirts with Evie every day.
