The book is devoted to the analysis of changes in Soviet foreign policy in relation to the Kuomintang (National Party of China) in the period 1923-1942. Based on published and archival materials, the development of Soviet-Chinese cooperation is examined from the point of view of a holistic and successive process. The work shows how, under the influence of the international situation and internal political factors, the course of the Soviet Union towards the Kuomintang during 1923-1942. underwent a transformation from priority support for the communist, national liberation movement to a pragmatic geopolitical approach, based on the idea of ensuring the security of the Far Eastern borders of the USSR. The author traces the path from the formation of a strategy for cooperation with the Kuomintang and decision-making to the implementation of specific support measures in the political and military spheres.
