Like many people of my generation, many changes have occurred in our lives in a relatively short period of time. Countries fell apart and formed and changed again. Immigration alienated me from Europe and my homeland. The military events of 2014 and 2022 forever changed the country of my birth, Ukraine and Russia. Change is always a minimum of discomfort. The antidote to this stress is to return, albeit in thoughts, to the past, to a peaceful time when everything was fine. An adult's glance back to childhood smooths out a lot, and also reveals character traits that are rooted in that past sweet time. I wrote a series of nine short stories and novellas, recalling my childhood and youth, which I spent in the city of Zaporozhye.
