The relationship between India and the Greek world is one of the most interesting pages in the history of world civilization. Despite the geographical remoteness of the studied regions and the difference in their historical destinies, close cultural, political and trade ties existed between the Greek states and India for thousands of years. Several stages can be distinguished in the acquaintance of the Greek world with India. The first is before Alexander’s campaign. Vague, random and fragmentary information remains about him, and mainly about that part of India that was part of the Achaemenid state. The second period dates back to the campaign of Alexander the Great. The direct interaction of cultures marked the beginning of a largely reliable historical tradition of knowledge about India. The third period can conventionally be called the “period of embassies” (late 4th – early 3rd century BC). It is already associated with the names of the ambassadors of the Hellenistic states - Mshasthenes, Deimachus, Dionysius. The next book in the series tells about the complex ways of interpenetration of two great cultures - ancient Greek and Indian. The publishing layout of the book is saved in PDF A4 format.
