"Moroz Ivanovich." The main idea of the fairy tale is expressed in the epigraph - a folk proverb rhymed by Odoevsky himself: We get nothing for free, without labor - it’s not for nothing that the proverb has been told since ancient times. The tale uses motifs and poetic formulas from Russian folk tales: there is an oven with pies that are asking to be eaten, and an apple tree with apples that are begging to be shaken from the tree. Just like Zhukovsky, Odoevsky strives to soften the sharp turns of the plots and makes the world of the fairy tale lighter.
