The name of the Czech writer, teacher and historian Eduard Storch is widely known not only in his homeland, but also in other countries. Storch's adventure novels, dedicated to the distant past of mankind, still arouse interest among young (and not only!) readers. Storch repeatedly visited archaeological expeditions, took part in many excavations - and in order to share his knowledge with the younger generation, he began to write books about the life of primitive people. “The Bronze Treasure” is another fascinating story about the life of prehistoric tribes inhabiting the banks of the Vltava River . The main character, the boy Shorty, is a stranger among his own. Despite the fact that he is the son of the Pathfinder, respected in the Bear tribe, Shorty is forced to endure the constant ridicule of his peers and the poking of adults, and the whole point is his small stature and physical weakness. The Bears just can’t accept the weak boy as their equal. However, Shorty tries not to lose heart - he, like his father, perfectly reads the tracks of animals and finds solace in walks through the forest and communicating with animals. But it seems that the boy’s dreams of becoming one of his own are not destined to come true... The ranger is found dead, and even accused of an insidious crime. Shorty sees from the tracks that his father is innocent, but his fellow tribesmen don’t even want to listen to the boy. He can no longer remain among the Bears, and Shorty sets off on a dangerous journey to find the treasure that the stranger told them about, and at the same time to find his father’s killers and restore his good name. The novel with illustrations by the wonderful Czech artist Zdenek Burian is published in Russian for the first time!< /p>
