Beauvoir watches old movies at night, trying to squeeze out the essence and metaphysical and religious implications of the 1979 Mad Max. Beauvoir dreams of transferring to a gas station in Texas, because he has always dreamed of endless open spaces. Every Tuesday at six o'clock in the evening a girl comes to his gas station, buys chips with onions and silently leaves on her bicycle.
