Vilen Apakidze, with the support of the USSR Minister of Internal Affairs N.A. Shchelokov, created an anti-mafia structure in the Ministry of Internal Affairs in 1982, which became an irritant for the then government. Apakidze’s structure, which was dubbed the “mini-FBI,” waged the fight against the mafia, balancing on the brink of closure. Then the heroes of this book were dismissed and subjected to repression. Their names were erased from history. It's time to give them their due. “Mini-FBI” brought together a powerful generation of detectives from the USSR era. But they also had strong and influential enemies. The fighters against the mafia of that call won. None of them allowed themselves to be trampled into the dirt. But these victories were very costly for them.
