One of the most brilliant and original artists of the 20th century, the visionary and hermit Bernard Requichaud (1929–1961) during his short life managed to create and test a number of innovative painting techniques, for which critics had to invent special terms: reliquaries, paper collections, graphic traces, etc. In his literary experiments, he no less insightfully anticipated barely emerging trends and directions - such as asemic writing, sonorous poetry, and the principles of rehearsal music. This edition includes poetry and prose texts by Rekisho, including the unfinished fragmentary novel “Faustus” - a kind of multi-faceted self-portrait of the artist, which occupies a special place in his heritage. The book also includes keynote articles by Alain Jouffroy and Roland Barthes on Requisho. Translator and publisher – Viktor Lapitsky, winner of the Andrei Bely and Maurice Waxmacher awards.
