This book collects the best work of Robert Duncan Milne, who became the founding father of American science fiction, publishing more than 60 stories in the late 19th century. Now the University of Dundee has announced an attempt to revive interest in Scotland's answer to H. G. Wells, whose work appeared regularly in the San Francisco literary magazine Argonaut, and how he foresaw climate change, drone warfare and satellite communications. Dr Williams said: "Milne wrote an astonishing number of science fiction stories and created a list of imaginary technologies, some of which were close to what was possible to create at the time, but others were far ahead, amazingly prescient and much more accurate and true." he was more extraordinary in his predictions than many of his contemporaries. He truly is the forgotten father of American science fiction."
