Senior Commissioner Lena Lorenzen undertakes to investigate the disappearance of a fourteen-year-old girl who lives on the small North Frisian island of Föhr. The missing girl was raised in a religious family; those around her describe her as a very developed girl for her age. On the second day of the search, the girl is found dead on the beach with the veins of her wrist cut. Lena suspects that this is murder. The girl's parents are in no hurry to help the investigation, and they are not the only ones who have skeletons in their closet. The deeper Lena dives into the life of the dead girl, the more secrets they learn. Lorenzen is convinced that these secrets are the key to solving the case. In addition to the investigation, Lena will have to solve personal problems. Will she want to move to Amrum to be with Eric, and what will happen to her job at the Kiel Criminal Police Department? Will Lena be able to forgive her father, whom she has not seen for fourteen years?
