The book includes memories of participants in the campaigns of Russian troops in the Kopet-Dag and Pamir mountains at the end of the 19th century. In his essays, A. A. Mayer talks about the assault and capture of Geok-Tepe in January 1881, and the events that preceded it. He devotes many pages to the “White General” - Mikhail Dmitrievich Skobelev. The memoirs are printed according to the 1886 edition. The essays and stories of B. L.
