The memoirs of Vladyka Vasily (Krivoshein) are dedicated to a troubled time in Russian history: 1917, 1918, when the thousand-year Empire collapsed, when people were thrown into a terrible whirlpool of tragic events. The memoirs were written by a very young man. Their value lies in the fact that they convey the impressions of a direct eyewitness. But their spiritual significance is much more important: the future Master, no matter what happens in his life, knows that the Lord protects him, that the all-good will of God is being accomplished in everything that happens. This book is about the faith that the soul maintains in the most hopeless circumstances, and about the miracle that the Lord shows to a believer. The book is supplemented by letters from Archbishop Vasily and two reports given at the conference dedicated to the 25th anniversary of the death of the Bishop.
