The book is dedicated to a new scientific field for geographical science - human geography. The processes of emergence, development and functioning of geographical images are studied. The methodological foundations of the formation and development of human geography are considered, the structures of representing figurative-geographical spaces are studied in detail. Particular attention is paid to strategies for the representation and interpretation of geographical images in cultural geography, political geography and geopolitics, economic geography and geoeconomics. As examples, a number of key figurative and geographical situations were studied: spatial structures in A. Platonov’s novel “Chevengur”, the geopolitics of Central Asia in the second half of the 19th century, geopolitical images of Russia at the end of the 20th century, economic and geographical images of the regions of modern Russia.
