The life of the Holy Blessed Elder Matrona of Moscow is known to all Orthodox Christians. Of course, in this life there remain many blank spots: the path of blessed Matronushka often walked secretly, hidden from the world. This applies both to “biographical facts” and, to a much greater extent, to the life of the spirit of the holy ascetic. “Another person’s soul is darkness,” we say about our neighbors. The soul of a saint is the brightest light, unbearable for our eyes, and in this light we can see much less than in our usual darkness. There is no attempt here to penetrate the soul of the Russian holy fool of the twentieth century: this is simply a reflection on the well-known pages of her life. And, since the saints still live next to us, several evidence of this life is given here: letters from people whose prayers Matronushka responded to.

Читання цієї книги стало для мене не лише пізнавальним досвідом, але й джерелом натхнення.
