“There is nothing mysterious about interrogation.”

The CIA Interrogation Manual is a manual published by the CIA for intelligence agencies in Latin America in 1960-1980. They became known in 1997 in connection with the declassification of documents under the Freedom of Information Act. The US media is often referred to as the "Torture Manuals". In 1963, the CIA published the KUBARK Counterintelligence Interrogation manual for use during the Vietnam War. In 1983, an updated Human Resource Exploitation Training Manual was published. Information about the benefits emerged as journalists from The Baltimore Sun newspaper investigated a number of murders in Honduras. Referring to the Freedom of Information Act, the newspaper demanded to see the text of the manual. Initially, CIA representatives tried to disclose only an abridged version, but were later forced to publish a more complete version. Following the publications, Honduran judge Roy Medina, leading the investigation into human rights violations, noted: “This publication confirms what we in Honduras have known for a long time: the United States trained Honduran army torture. They tried to stop communism, but their methods were unacceptable for a civilized society. .  Reading it, someone will notice how coolly the instructions on violence against the human person are hidden behind streamlined academic formulations; someone will shrug their shoulders with the expression “That’s the job, someone needs to do it”; someone will ask themselves how long a similar secret manual has been in service in their native Fatherland. PS. In addition, we note that for interrogation purposes, the management proposes to use an original, which does not coincide with the generally accepted, classification by personality type.
