The basis of the collection by Vladimir Rudinsky (real name Daniil Petrov; Tsarskoe Selo, 1918 - Paris, 2011), a prominent representative of the “second wave” of Russian emigration, is the cycle of short stories “Scary Paris” - a unique combination of detective, thriller, esotericism and moral philosophical reflections, where representatives of the Russian diaspora in France find themselves at the center of events. The book also includes later short stories from the same cycle, published for the first time in Russia, crime chronicles and essays previously published in emigrant periodicals.
