The novel, published in 1990, is the story of a Belgrade family of intellectuals from the 20s to the 80s. XX century, told in the first person. The story of a painful search for the path of life, the story of choice and responsibility for it, the story of love and betrayal. Lagum is not only mine tunnels, underground passages and catacombs under the Belgrade Kalemegdan fortress, through which fugitives once escaped from persecution by the Turks, but also a metaphor for an intimate space in which one can hide from the terrible cataclysms of the surrounding reality.
