Real recognition came to the poet Yuri Levitansky when he was already over forty. “So I live now - late,” the poet wrote in one of his poems. The Great Patriotic War, to which he went as a nineteen-year-old volunteer, a student at the famous IFLI, left a deep mark on his life and destiny, and at the same time his poems still stand apart in the work of poets of the “front-line galaxy”... Subtle lyricism, brilliant mastery of words, unique finds in the field of poetics make Yuri Levitansky one of the most outstanding Russian poets of the second half of the twentieth century. Yuri Levitansky's friend and biographer Leonid Gomberg has been working with materials about the life and work of the poet for many years. This book carefully collects archival materials, reflections and memories of Yuri Levitansky himself and many wonderful people about him. The polyphonic sound of the book is complemented by selected poems by the poet. The publication was prepared for the 100th anniversary of Yuri Levitansky. The publishing design is preserved in PDF A4 format.
