When Azeroth was young, the noble titans appointed five great families of dragons as guardians of the nascent world, endowing the head of each of them, the Aspect, with a piece of their own cosmic powers. United, the Dragon Aspects devoted themselves to fighting all the forces of evil that threatened the safety of the world. But more than ten thousand years ago, Deathwing, the head of the black dragonflight, went mad and betrayed the other Aspects, splitting their unity. His recent attack on Azeroth, known as the Cataclysm, has plunged the world into chaos. Now within the Maelstrom that lies at the very center of unstable Azeroth, the former Warchief of the Horde Thrall and other powerful shamans try to keep the world from falling apart at the seams. But also in the soul of Thrall himself, a battle is unfolding related to his new life among the Earthen Rings. Unable to concentrate on his duties, Thrall eagerly responds to an unexpected call for help from the mysterious Ysera, the Aspect of the green dragonflight. The humble assignment soon turns into a journey not only across all corners of Azeroth, but also through the time streams of history itself, as Ysera’s visions reveal a terrible possible future: the Time of Twilight. Before it becomes a reality, Thrall must leave his doubts behind, find his true purpose in the present, and help the dragons of Azeroth survive the Twilight of the Aspects.
