The book is dedicated to one of the most prominent politicians of France of the 19th century, a prominent representative of French liberalism, Adolphe Thiers. Having suppressed the Paris Commune in 1871, Thiers gained fame for many years as a Bloody Dwarf, a cruel and merciless reactionary, and therefore no serious scientific study of his views and political activities was carried out in Russia.
