The main character of the new book by writer and publicist Victor Senchi is the legendary division commander of the 28th Iron Division, Voldemar Azin. However, the reader is invited to take a somewhat broader look at the entire course of events of the Civil War in Russia. Trying to conduct a conversation honestly and openly, the author does not hide his feelings for both the Reds and the Whites - Russian soldiers and officers, who, by the will of fate, found themselves on opposite sides of the bloody struggle. True to his principle of “getting to the bottom of the truth,” the writer quite scrupulously examines every fact and event, linking them with archival materials and the memories of eyewitnesses. Some researchers, with whom the author met while working on the book, believe that with his investigation into the circumstances of the death of Division Commander-28, Victor Senche managed to put a final point on this issue.
