The Nazis throughout their time in power looted libraries — first in Germany, and then in all occupied lands. The number of lost (lost in the maelstrom of war and finally destroyed) books is calculated in millions of copies. The books were not so unique and did not have significant material value, such as works of art, but instead had an ideological value, because first of all, special brigades looted the libraries of the enemies of Nazism.
