Prince Sergei Sergeevich Obolensky, the last editor-in-chief of the Vozrozhdenie magazine, left a noticeable mark on Russian emigrant periodicals. In the magazine he wrote the column “Deeds and People”; in addition, possessing an undoubted literary talent, since 1955, under his own name, he has published more than 45 articles and 4 reviews. Our publication introduces readers to the full version of the book “Jeanne – Virgin of God,” which, undoubtedly, is the main result of his research and journalistic activities. S. S. Obolensky spent many years studying the spiritual phenomenon of Joan of Arc, a simple French peasant woman who became the savior of her homeland, burned at the stake and later canonized by the Roman Catholic Church. In the image of the “Maid of Orleans”, Prince Obolensky was attracted by her spirituality, desire for truth and self-sacrifice. He, as an author, paid great attention to the analysis of the theological reasons for its misunderstanding and rejection in the West and the place it occupies in the history of Western Christianity and France. This spiritual, philosophical and historical work about Joan of Arc has no analogues in the entire treasury of Russian humanitarian thought. The first edition of the book in Russian was published in 1988, but the manuscript was censored by the Catholic Church. The book uses photographs from personal archive of Princess Vera Sergeevna Obolenskaya. Their reproduction is prohibited without her written permission. The publishing layout of the book is saved in PDF A4 format.
