Philofey (Πατριάρχης Φιλόθεος, in the world Phocas Kokkin, Φωκάς Κόκκινος; c. 1300 - 1379) - Patriarch of Constantinople from 1353 to 1354 and from 136 4 to 1376. Author of numerous works, including lives, theological and polemical works, ditaxes, prayers and hymns. He finally formalized hesychasm as an Orthodox teaching and established the principle of the supremacy of the patriarchal throne of Constantinople over the entire Eastern Church.
