Four hundred years ago there was a battle in which the forces of Light finally and irrevocably defeated the forces of Darkness. So the life of a modern white magician is calm and serene, although he is a magician for almost a week - the third year of the academy, and has not even completed the Initiation of the Light. It is not surprising that the student takes on an unexpected, interesting and even seemingly dangerous task with delight. All you need to do is visit the ruins of the city in which that very battle, today called the Last, once took place. A mere trifle, it would seem, but only, as it turned out, not all dark magicians were eliminated, and the Last Battle did not take place exactly as described in the history books. A chain of unexpected meetings and coincidences - and the main characters are rapidly twisted into a whirlpool of events. It is not at all easy to stay on the surface when all paths lead only down, every next choice is between darkness and Darkness, between evil and even greater Evil. How long can a person remain human?
