Cut River, Michigan. Population: 0. A city created by the devil. It was once a sleepy, provincial town, and once upon a time there were people living in it. Then a lurking epidemic began to devour his bones. A pestilence born from the smoldering cemeteries of nameless, forgotten battlefields. And now there is only shifting darkness in Cut River. A darkness inhabited by hideous shadows that pretend to be people. At some point, seven strangers will arrive here. If they can hold out until dawn, they will survive. But to do so will mean engaging in a bloody war of attrition against creatures that crawl and hunt in the night, that wear the faces of men, women and children, but are in fact Toxic Shadows.
