Viktor Remizov is a prose writer and journalist, author of the collection of short stories “Ketanda”, the first publications were published in the magazines “New World” and “October”. The action of the novel “Free Will” takes place in the Far East. The conflict arises between local hunters and fishermen and the police, who collect taxes from the poaching business in the area. Residents of the village are divided into those who are ready and even happy to finally submit to the new order, and those who strive for “freedom.” The latter go into the taiga and try either to hide from their pursuers or to break ties with the civilized world.
