The second part of the novel “Two Faces of Time”. Brief summary of the first book. Pyotr Liykov, after graduating from school, decides to enter the star school. Before admission, each candidate must undergo a test: he makes a long flight on a starship to the outskirts of the galaxy under the control and supervision of a superbrain. At the same time, almost half of the applicants are eliminated; loneliness and isolation from their home planet are too hard to bear. The ship “Svyatogor” with such a contender on board falls into a hole in space-time and ends up near a planet on which a recent war destroyed civilization. The superbrain, nicknamed Smart Guy, discovers an anomaly on the planet, a rupture in space-time that occurred as a result of the massive use of nuclear weapons. The anomaly leads to the recent past, a year before the disaster. By going there, Peter manages to prevent a world war. Further circumstances are unfavorable for him; on both continents the authorities are opening a hunt for Peter. As a result of his intervention in the historical process, the future of the planet changed, the hole disappeared along with the ship and the Smart Man. Left without support, in the hope of finding a new homeland, he and his girlfriend are forced to flee overseas, to a small neutral country, Brussia.
