The classic Chinese novel "The Spell Dispelled" is widely loved by readers in its homeland and is officially classified as a "popular book for enjoyable reading." Its authorship is usually attributed to the great Chinese writer of the 14th century, Luo Guanzhong, the creator of the epic “The Three Kingdoms,” and the final edition of the text is attributed to Feng Menglong (1574–1646), one of the most famous writers of his time. Numerous heroes of “The Dispelled Spell,” such as the sorceress White Fox, the lame demon Zuo, the graceful fox Hu Mei’er and many others, commit various outrages and actively interfere in the lives of ordinary people and courtiers, for which they will face inevitable retribution. The text is accompanied by illustrations and drawings Chinese and Japanese artists.
