Jorge Luis Borges is one of the most famous writers of the 20th century, who largely determined the shape of modern literature. Most of the legacy of the great Argentinean is non-fiction prose: more than a thousand pages of essays, reviews, sketches, prefaces, lectures, all kinds of notes on a variety of topics. These works (“intellectual adventures,” according to the author) are no less exciting reading than the fiction of Borges. Like the Aleph from his famous story - the magical point from which everything that happens in the world can be seen - Borges's texts try to cover the entire universe: Dante and Shakespeare, Kabbalah and Buddhism, the story of angels and the history of tango, the mystery of time and fascism, film reviews and biography of Swedenborg... In a sense, this is where the true appearance of the writer is revealed, his unique, slightly ironic voice of a bookworm and sage sounds. This edition includes texts by Borges, covering the entire creative life of the author; The reader will find here, in addition to classical, widely known works, many reviews, notes, reflections and essays that have never before been published in Russian. The texts are accompanied by notes and a short biography of Borges. The publishing layout of the book is saved in PDF A4 format.
