The beginning of the 20th century in the arts and humanities was marked by a special interest in language, which launched a process of deep understanding of the relationship between language and artistic creativity. This reflection resulted in the so-called linguo-aesthetic turn, to which Vladimir Feshchenko’s book is dedicated. The author considers linguoesthetics as a concept aimed at studying the language of art and, in particular, the language of fiction at the intersection of linguistic theory and aesthetic teachings. V. Feshchenko traces the formation of this approach from the era of romanticism to the present day and demonstrates the scientific potential of its tools, which can complement the methods of such disciplines as linguistic poetics, semiotics of language and art, linguistic philosophy, cultural anthropology, as well as restore the destroyed bridges between literary studies and linguistics.
